The Peer Reviewed Preferred Review Appraiser network Is a nationwide, non-profit coalition of forensic and review appraisers whose intent is to provide professional appraisal reviews to its members and the public.
It is well known that if a lender turns down a loan due to a fraudulent or misleading appraisal, the loan officer or mortgage broker will simply attempt to place the loan with another lender. This process will continue until the appraisal slips through the lenders risk management department and the loan is funded. To assist lenders in their decision making process, the Peer Reviewed Preferred Review Appraiser network has been established by the Keystone Society of Appraising Professionals to certify professional review appraisers to ensure an unbiased appraisal review by competent and ethical review appraisers.
